Multiple Origin is my personal atlas of specialty coffee. Every bag here is one I bought, brewed and emptied, then flattened, scanned, read and mapped, from the farm it was grown on to the roastery that finished it.
The collection keeps growing: I scan new bags in batches, the labels are transcribed automatically, and each coffee joins the map, the wall and the numbers. No beans were wasted in the making of this website.
When I'm not emptying coffee bags, I run Spatially Aware, a spatial analysis consultancy that turns complex geographic data into decisions people can act on. Mapping coffee was only a matter of time.
